Nicole Ameln
President and Founder
Nicole has 25 years of tax experience, 18 of them focused entirely on production incentive and tax planning for the entertainment industry. She held positions at Fox Studios, Deloitte and Touche, and White and Case before founding North Star Incentives. She earned an MBA in Public Accounting from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business and a JD from Pace University’s School of Law. She has also worked on independent films as a production manager and coordinator.
More than 20 years of freelance and studio production experience, with 10 years focused entirely on production incentive compliance. Prior to joining North Star, Crystal was Director of Theatrical Productions Incentives at 20th Century Fox. She has also worked as a freelance production supervisor and production coordinator.
13 years in public accounting before joining an independent studio as their in-house production and post production accountant. She founded 405 Post Production Services in 2019 to support the Oklahoma film incentive rebate program. She is a member of IATSE 484 and currently serves as board member and Treasurer for the Oklahoma Motion Picture
Alliance.

Over 19 years as a production accountant across television and film. Responsible for weekly cost reporting, daily hot costs, budgets, accounts payable, payroll, cash flow forecasts, and SAG/AFTRA, WGA, and DGA residuals schedules. Has worked on location across California, New York, Virginia, Utah, Canada, and Ireland.

She began her career under the direct mentorship of academy award-winning producer Jeremy Thomas, serving as his senior business affairs executive for 8 years. Directly involved in all levels of Recorded Picture Company’s production and distribution activities, and an integral part of the growth of
international sales and finance company Hanway Films.

She began her career under the direct mentorship of academy award-winning producer Jeremy Thomas, serving as his senior business affairs executive for 8 years.
